Every month, Amy Olsen, a fourteen-year-old girl growing up in Laurel Creek, Michigan, writes directly to you and sends pieces of her life along with her letter. School. Friends. Family. Growing up. All the ordinary stuff that feels a lot less ordinary forty years later.

Meet Amy

Amy is a fourteen-year-old freshman who lives somewhere in the middle of the pack, not unpopular, not effortlessly cool, just trying to figure out where she fits.

She’s thoughtful, observant, a little self-conscious, and prone to overthinking things that probably don’t need quite that much thought.

She notices people, remembers small details, loves her best friend fiercely, gets embarrassed easily, and is still caught between being a kid and wanting to feel grown-up.

She’s funny without trying to be, and the more comfortable she gets writing to you, the more honest she becomes.
