Each envelope unlocks more of Laurel Creek.

Inside every issue is a QR code that opens a hidden companion page for that month’s story. Explore a little more of Amy’s world through an evolving map of Laurel Creek and occasional discoveries tied to the story — places, photographs, music, newspaper clippings, and other pieces of town life.

The envelope is the episode. The companion page lets you explore the world around it.

The physical mail experience is complete on its own. The companion page is optional — just another door into Laurel Creek.

Questions

  • Use your own email address and payment information at checkout. This keeps order and subscription emails coming to you so the surprise isn’t spoiled.

For shipping/delivery, use the recipient’s name and mailing address. If Shop Pay recognizes your email, it may automatically fill in your own saved address. Choose Use a different address and enter the recipient’s shipping information instead.

Your billing address should remain the address associated with your payment method.

  • Choose the First Mailing Month above. Letters from Laurel Creek mail on the 15th of each month, and the recipient’s first envelope will be included in the mailing for the month you select.

  • Yes. After your Gift Subscription purchase, we’ll email you a printable Letters from Laurel Creek gift announcement PDF, so you have something to give her even if her first physical envelope hasn’t arrived yet. The announcement is sent to the purchaser’s email address, not the recipient’s.

If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folder. You can also email hello@lettersfromlaurelcreek.com and we’ll be happy to help.

  • No. Gift subscriptions are prepaid for 3, 6, or 12 monthly issues. You pay once at checkout, and there are no automatic renewal charges. The gift ends after the number of issues purchased unless someone chooses to continue.

  • Every recipient starts with Issue 001 and experiences Amy’s story from the beginning, no matter when the gift is purchased.

  • Yes. Choose the First Mailing Month when you purchase the gift. The recipient’s first envelope will mail on the 15th of the month you select.

  • The gift ends after the 3, 6, or 12 issues purchased. Near the end of the gift term, we’ll provide information about how Laurel Creek can continue if she wants to keep receiving Amy’s story. The original gift buyer will not be automatically charged.

  • Each Series contains twelve issues. Series One follows Amy through her freshman year, beginning in September 1984. When one Series ends, the story continues into the next.

  • No. Amy’s letters are typed in a typewriter-style font to give them the look and feel of a letter from 1984. But there’s still plenty of her left all over the page — notes in the margins, crossed-out words, arrows, afterthoughts, and her signature at the end. Other pieces she sends may be handwritten, too. I put every envelope together by hand, tucking in the pieces of her life she wants you to have, and send it on its way.

  • Letters from Laurel Creek currently ships within the United States only. Outside the U.S.? Join our International Interest list and we'll let you know if that changes.

  • No. Amy’s letter and the physical pieces in each envelope are the complete story experience. The companion page is an optional extra if you want to explore more of Laurel Creek.

  • No. It’s included with your issue. Scan the QR code and the companion page opens in your phone’s browser — no additional app or subscription required. QR links opening web content in a phone browser is standard Shopify behavior.

  • Yes. Each issue has its own companion page, so you can return and revisit Laurel Creek later.

  • No. Amy, her family, and everyone in Laurel Creek are fictional, and every letter and artifact is created by us. That's the only question on this page we'll answer directly.

  • There's a return address on the envelope. We can't promise a reply to everything, but we read all of it.
